Course Goal

As part of the ‘Scientific Computing’ module, students practise the use of software and programming languages for the independent quantitative numerical processing of a problem from the engineering sciences, as well as the written presentation of procedures and results. This also includes familiarisation with the programming language to be used depending on the problem.

Previous knowledge of relevant programmes or programming languages such as Matlab® & Simulink®, ANSYS®, COMSOL Multiphysics®, LabVIEW®, TwinCAT®, C, C++, C#, Python and similar is advantageous.

 

Course Content

Tasks are not explicitly advertised, but are orientated towards the diverse subject areas of the institute along the institute presentation on the homepage. The current adverts for student jobs and student research projects can be used as a guide. The topics include, for example, mathematical/statistical analysis, simulation, control and regulation of sensor/actuator systems or systems in the clean room, programming of test benches, various activities in the context of AI.
