The nationwide "Zukunftstag" will take place on April 25th, 2024. Children and teenagers will once again have the opportunity to produce a silicon oxide wafer with a structured chromium layer in the institute's own clean room and gain an insight into the technical work in the yellow light area. In this way, we try to introduce the basics of microproduction technology and the important, seminal semiconductor technology in a fun way to the next generation of scientists. In the wafer design, the participants can choose from various motifs, which are then available as foil masks and used in a standard photolithography process.

The IMPT offers participation as part of the program of the Hannover Centre for Production Technology (PZH), where participants can take part in other projects at other institutes during the morning. For details, please refer to the phi article Girls' Day and Boys' Day at the Production Technology Center (German).

Interested children and teenagers aged 11 to 15, who are at least in the fifth grade, can register directly with Johanna Fahlbusch: by e-mail to fahlbusch@tewiss.uni-hannover.de
