On our YouTube channel we offer insights into our research. This time on the topic: Development of a miniaturised strontium atom source ; presented by Jannik Koch.

A quantum computer is being developed in Lower Saxony as part of the Quantum Valley Lower Saxony research project. One sub-project is the development of miniaturised strontium atom sources at the Institute of Microproduction Technology for use in atomic clocks. In order to generate a sufficient quantity of gaseous strontium atoms, the source must be operated in the temperature range between 300°C and 500°C. By miniaturising the atomic source, future quantum systems for mobile use can be built even more compactly.
