On our YouTube channel we offer insights into our research. This time on the topic: Development of a glass-silicon emitter chip with diced field emitters; presented by Aleksandra Buchta.
As part of the BMBF-funded research project "InnoVaQ", the IMPT is working together with the project partners DLR-SI (Institute for Satellite Geodesy and Intertial Sensors), the company LPKF Laser & Electronics SE, the company Vacom Vakuum Komponenten & Messtechnik GmbH and the PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt Braunschweig and Berlin) on the development of a miniaturised ultra-high vacuum (UHV) setup for a quantum sensor based on strontium atoms. In order to maintain the UHV level, a miniaturised vacuum pump based on a magnet-free field emitter approach is being developed at the IMPT.
